I recently did two E-design plans for bedding. I thought I would share my guide on the perfect bedding. Too often I go into clients homes or get pictures where the pillows are just too small and they used too many or the don't fold down the quilt and add a few layers. Another thing I see is flat pillows, stuff them people! Fill them with down or get a full fiber blend, a size larger than the actual pillows. Don't make that mistake... don't do it!
Follow my tips.
This is my bed right now, it changes often. But the key is the layers and the 26" euro shams.

THESE sheets came with two standard shams that are layered in front of the Euros that we sleep with.
HERE and HERE are similar white quilt I layered over my white sheets. At the end I folded a white linen duvet that is filled with a down fill, you can find HERE
This is another way to layer pillows, and keep it pretty simple. The 26" euro sham is filled with a down fill, makes it full with not a lot of pillows.
I put the pillows we sleep with under the back euro to add height (notice the marble euro is taller than the gray, but they are both the same size).
This is another great example of large pillows and bedding layered with sheets and folded duvet at the bottom. This would not look as amazing if the duvet was not folded down and the pillows were stacked on top of it.
This is my same bed in our Utah home but in a king size.
I did a similar look to my bedding now, just a few more pillows for the king bed.
I recently switched out this bedding for a client that I did her bedroom almost 8 years ago. It needed to be lightened up.
I did cream sheets and folded down the top sheet over THIS king puckered quilt that is folded down as well. This was her summer bedding, in the winter she could add a king duvet stuffed with a down fill folded at the end of the bed.

I did this bedroom about 8 years ago. But you can see sticking with cream, neutral bedding is timeless. This was all a bedding set from Eastern Accents.
It is the more expensive route to go, since it is all put together for you.
This bed looks extremely cozy and lived in. They folded down the sheets and again used euro shams, nothing smaller than 23" on that bed.
You can see that none of this is a set, it is eclectic pieces that I mixed together. I didn't fold down the quilt on this bed, it was too hard to do against the wall. But I still created full layers with a duvet folded at the end.

I tried to simplify my girls beds, so they could easily make them and keep them light for the summer. I will have to add down fills pretty soon, that I layer under the white quilt.
I stacked the pillow that they sleep with under the white ruffle sham. I have used those all over my different beds, they are a staple you can find some HERE.
This bedding is pretty similar in the fact that they have a sham in the back with one euro and one accent pillow to add a pop of color. Again the quilt is folded down and the pillows are on top of the sheets, NOT the duvet.
Try making your bed a little different tomorrow. Fold down your quilt or duvet to add layers. Expose your sheets!
